New Balance and The Basement Partner for Tonal ‘Earth Brown’ Silhouette
Written by SOURCE on April 22, 2022
After teasing the collaborative sneaker midway through last year, London-based community platform The Basement and New Balance have officially announced their forthcoming “Earth Brown” iteration of the 2002R silhouette.
First appearing in 2010 as NB’s flagship Made in USA model, the “2002” was unleashed in 2020 as the “2002R” with the original upper design, additional ABZORB and NERGY modern cushioning technology and subtle design touches.
Titled The Basement x New Balance 2002R “Earth Brown”, the collaborative sneaker keeps things simple with a tonal mix of brown and taupe hues along with reflective trims along the toe and ankle. Constructed from a variety of rugged materials—including water-repellent suede and textured rubber—further details include black toe caps, with matching heel guards, a rigid outsole and reflective 3M panels.
Equipped with the aforementioned NERGY and ABZORB midsole, The Basement branding graces the sneaker’s heel, tongue, lace tips and insole, while New Balance’s signature “N” logo rounds things out.
The Basement x New Balance 2002R Earth Brown will be available to cop as a “group exclusive” via The Basement’s online community from April 24. To access the drop, you’ll need to become a member of the community platform here.
