NFL Owners, Players, and Clubs Donate Over $35 Million to COVID-19 Relief

The NFL family is doing its part to help combat the novel coronavirus

The league announced last week that its players, owners, and clubs have collectively donated more than $35 million to COVID-19 relief efforts. NFL figures who’ve publicly announced their contributions include, Saints QB Drew Brees, Houston Texans pass rusher J.J. Watt, Redskins running back Adrian Peterson, Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay, and Seahawks QB Russell Wilson.

“We have all been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Now more than ever, we need to unify to stay home and stay strong,” NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said in a press release. “The NFL will continue to find ways to give our support so we can get through this time of uncertainty together.”

The NFL states there are 10 organizations that will benefit from the donations: The American Red Cross, Bob Woodruff Foundation, Boys & Girls Clubs of America, CDC Foundation, GENYOUth Foundation, Meals on Wheels America, Salvation Army, Team Rubicon, United Way, and Wounded Warrior Project.
