Nick Foles Reportedly Heading to Jacksonville

Super Bowl-winning quarterback Nick Foles is rumored to be inching towards a deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, sources claim that the Jaguars “absolutely expect” to land the ex-Eagle once NFL free agency opens on March 13. Per the Inquirer‘s Jeff McLane, the two sides have been working to structure a deal that will bring the Philly hero to Florida. Although these talks are technically barred as the NFL’s “legal tampering” period doesn’t begin until March 11, the Eagles have not put a franchise tag on Foles which lessened both parties’ concerns that a complaint would be filed. Also, it was reported that the Jaguars are the only team looking to land Foles as of now.
The Jaguars have been the favorite to secure Foles since it was announced last week that the quarterback would be a free agent. It has been said that those within the franchise feel that the quarterback is “the perfect fit” for the team’s offense. And if a deal is brokered, the Jags are expected to move on from current starter Blake Bortles.
Despite things seeming to gel perfectly, there is a small possibility that the Jags won’t land Foles. After bringing the Eagles their first NFL championship, the quarterback is looking to leverage his ring to secure the biggest payout. This has created rumblings that teams in bigger markets will start to court Foles once free agency starts. The New York Giants is one of these potential franchises. To keep the interest of Odell Beckham, Jr., it is rumored that the Giants are looking to replace Eli Manning with Nick Foles possibly being their next star quarterback. The Washington Redskins and the Miami Dolphins are also said to be eyeing Foles.
