Michael B. Jordan has confirmed that Nike will be launching a special collection of apparel to celebrate the release of Creed 2. Jordan, who portrays the film’s main character Adonis Creed, made the announcement earlier today via Instagram.
The actor’s announcement was accompanied by the caption, “Power. Legacy. Purpose. Amidst all of my training, I kept this in mind and wanted to give you a piece of that.” In the photo, Jordan can be seen wearing a grey T-shirt with the sleeves cut off that simply reads “Creed” in navy blue text with a red Swoosh.
An official Nike collaboration for the release of Creed 2 is certainly not out of left field. In the original Creed that released back in 2015, Jordan’s character Adonis is almost exclusively wearing Jordan Brand apparel and sneakers like the Air Jordan 11 on-screen. In the official trailer for the latest installment of the series, there is also heavy product placement from Nike in the form of various styles from Nike, Jordan Brand, and Converse.
Fans of the Rocky franchise will be able to grab pieces from the Nike x Adonis Creed collection on Thursday, Nov. 15 at select retailers. Creed 2 will be hitting theaters on Thanksgiving Day (Nov. 21).
