Nike’s Colin Kaepernick Icon Shirt Is Already Sold Out Online

Yesterday, Nike dropped some official gear to further emphasize its support of NFL quarterback-turned-activist Colin Kaepernick. While some people might still be busy setting their Nike socks on fire to protest the sportswear company’s backing of Kap, the brand seems to be doing just fine. Kaepernick’s T-shirts sold out within hours of releasing.
The brand originally made its pro-Kap stance known this past Labor Day weekend when it debuted its latest ad campaign celebrating the 30th anniversary of “Just Do It.” Some people decided to boycott Nike after the announcement, but Nike’s stock prices and sales have still managed to soar since its debut.
Kaepernick’s Icon T-shirt is a black long sleeve that features reflective designs including a Swoosh on the left sleeve, the phrase “Believe in something, even if it means sacrificing everything,” a cluster of special logos positioned by the bottom hem, and his last name across the back to resemble a jersey. The design was initially worn by LeBron James earlier this month on his way into the Staples Center for a preseason game.
This is not the first time that some Kaepernick merch has sold out. This past September, the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback released black-and-white “I’m With Kap” football jerseys on his official website that also sold out almost instantly.
Not all hope is lost if you are trying to score one of these dope T-shirts. Select stores also stocked the design. Head over to kaepernick7.com for a list of participating locations. Shirts are priced at $50.
