Nipsey Hussle’s Tour Manager Names Baby Boy After the Late Rapper

In the weeks since Nipsey Hussle’s tragic death, people have honored the rapper’s memory in pretty amazing ways, whether it be through song, street art, or even tattoos. But one of the most touching tributes was paid Friday by Nipsey’s good friend and business partner Jorge Peniche.
Less than a month after Nipsey was gunned down in South Los Angeles, Peniche and his wife, Letty Martinez, welcomed another baby boy to their family. The couple shared the good news via Instagram on Friday, revealing the baby’s picture and full name.
“World, please welcome our new son,” Peniche wrote “… Luis Ermias Peniche.”
Ermias was Nipsey’s legal first name, which translates to “God Will Rise.”
Peniche was Nipsey’s road manager and co-founder of the Marathon Agency, a consulting firm that helped promote hip-hop artists. In a 2018 interview VIP Access, Peniche spoke about the late rapper’s business acumen and eye for talent.
“Nipsey is an architect, and Nipsey knows how to seek out talent,” he said. “Case in point: how he found my talent, and we were able to gel well together and plug into the machine he already had running […] Nipsey is genius in putting people together and putting talents that compliment each other around him.”
