Normani is still riding “Waves.”
Nearly three months after the single’s debut, Normani has released its official video directed by Emil Nava (Eminem’s “River,” Camila Cabello’s “Crying in the Club”). The visual begins with the 22-year-old songstress waking up on another planet next to a Beats Pill speaker. She then makes her way over the sandy terrain, described as “a place lost between space and time,” before she’s joined by ATL rapper 6lack.
“He’s an amazing lyricist, and I feel like he took the record to a whole other level,” Normani said about 6lack during an interview with Zane Lowe. “I already love the record as is, but he totally exceeded any expectation I even had, which was pretty high, because I admire him as an artist.”
You can watch Normani’s “Waves” video above. The former Fifth Harmony member is now preparing to release her debut solo album, which is reportedly influenced by her Southern roots.
