Obama Does Not Have a 10-Foot Wall Around His House as Trump Says

Donald Trump still hasn’t shut up about his wall, keeping the same energy he maintained throughout all of 2018 and carrying it through to 2019.
On Sunday (Dec. 30), Trump claimed on his Twitter that Barack Obama had built a “ten foot wall” around their Washington D.C. home. “Totally necessary for their safety and security,” he continued, using it as an opportunity to bring up his plans for the border wall once again. However, the Washington Post reports that he is wrong about the Obamas building a “ten foot wall” around their home.
One of the Obamas’ neighbors confirmed as much, claiming, “There’s a fence that goes along the front of the house, but it’s the same as the other neighbors have. It’s tastefully done.” Another neighbor added that their home is “100 percent visible from the street.” In fact, nothing blocks the steps that lead to the front door of the home, despite the fence and guard house around the driveway of the home.
Even though there’s not really a “ten foot wall” around the house, Trump finished his tweet by saying, “The U.S. needs the same thing, slightly larger version!”
