Offset is diversifying his resume. The Migos rapper will be making his acting debut on an episode of NCIS: Los Angeles this Sunday, March 1, Pitchfork reports.
He will also be premiering a new song, titled “Danger” during the episode.
Offset will play the role of an undercover CIA agent named Kadri Kashan Khan. According to a press release, Offset’s character has been “working for years in the Sinai Peninsula to embed himself with the local tribes by smuggling contraband so that he can monitoring terrorist and weapons movements in that region.”
“I never wanted to come into acting and be like put in this category of, ‘Oh, you be the bad guy all the time,” Offset said in a preview of the episode, which you can view up top. “I wanted to be able to show that I can do anything that someone sets in front of me.”
It’s been a roller coaster year for the rapper. He, 2 Chainz, and YG were accused of stealing their 2018 collaborative song “Proud.” In the lawsuit, Solomon Clanton, who goes by the stage name Slugga, says that his iteration of “Proud” includes the same hook as 2 Chainz’s. Clanton also alleges that both tracks have similar spoken-word intros, call-and-response methods in the lyrics, and the same time signature. He was also recently jailed for gun possession, though that incident turned out to be a giant misunderstanding.
