Olivia Jade is back with her first YouTube video since the college admissions scandal that has engulfed the social media influencer and her family for the last several months. And as Jade made sure to point out, she doesn’t plan on getting into any of the gory details.
“Obviously I’ve been gone for a really long time, and as much as I wish I could talk about all of this, it’s really hard for me to say this,” she said in the 2-minute clip, explaining why she has just now decided to make her return to the platform. “It’s just, unfortunately, the reason for that is because I’m legally not allowed to speak on anything going on right now.”
“There’s no point in me just talking for 10 minutes to the camera about how I wish I could say something when I really can’t, so I’m gonna leave it at that,” she continued. “Thank you so much for your patience or if you’ve stuck around for nine months just waiting, I really appreciate it.”
The 20-year-old continued her post, saying that “this is the best I can do and I want to move on with my life.” She said that she didn’t want to seem selfish, but it’s “so hard because I’m not trying to make this about me or how I’ve been because that’s not the point of this.”
In March, a huge college admissions scandal was uncovered, implicating a vast network of affluent parents, including celebrities Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin, that helped potential college students cheat on exams like the SAT and ACT, and gain admission into prestigious schools via phony athletic scholarships.
