Patrick Beverley Says It’s ‘No Challenge’ Guarding LeBron James After Lakers Beat Clippers

Written by on March 9, 2020

Patrick Beverley poured some fuel on the proverbial fire in the crosstown rivalry between the Lakers and the Clippers following their contest on Sunday, after he repeatedly said there was “no challenge” guarding LeBron James.

After the Clippers loss, Beverley was asked to describe the challenge that comes with defending LeBron. “No challenge,” he fired back. Before a follow-up question could be asked, the Clippers guard repeated himself: “No challenge.” When he was given an example of what James tries to do out on the floor, Pat Bev switched up his answer a bit, claiming that defending LeBron is “not hard at all.”

While many would jump on the side of the argument that Beverley doesn’t stand a chance against James, the Clippers guard has had success against him in the past.

Even in their Christmas Day game earlier this season, it was Beverley who made the key late-game block on James to secure the Clippers’ win.

But despite Beverley’s best efforts Sunday, LeBron still had an amazing game, a stunning exclamation mark on what was a dominant weekend for the King, whose team beat the East-leading Bucks on Friday.

And speaking of making statements, James’ latest heroics appear to have convinced some, that the MVP award is officially his to lose.
