Patriots Insider: Tom Brady Needs ‘Radical Course Change’ to Stay With Team

Could Tom Brady’s days as a New England Patriot be coming to an end?
According to Tom E. Curran of NBC Sports Boston, the famed quarterback may be headed for a split with the team he’s been with since 2000 unless there’s a “radical course change” in the next 90 days. He’ll be an unrestricted free agent come March, so he could very well be in a different uniform if he decides to go that route.
The Patriots don’t appear to be interested in continuing the Brady era any longer. “The team had every chance the past few years to give Brady an extension that would allow him to play until he’s 45 – a goal he’s stated on numerous occasions,” Curran wrote. “They passed on it repeatedly.”
The 42-year-old quarterback has been struggling this season. His passer rating this year is 88.3, his lowest since 2013. Pats fans still haven’t given up on their six-time Super Bowl champ.
Brady’s father recently told the Boston Herald that he pretty much has no idea what his son is thinking. “You know, I don’t know. It’s hard for me to envision him playing somewhere else. He wants to play. But ultimately, it’s Bill’s decision,” Brady Sr. said. “Nobody really knows. Bill doesn’t tip his hand. There’s just been insinuations here and there. This is really kind of between those two. They got to decide what they want.”
