Pentatonic X Johnny Hoxton: O.P.E. Reworks Waste into Sick Jewellery
Written by SOURCE on November 22, 2019
Pentatonic showcase the possibilities of circular fashion as they team up with Johnny Hoxton on the O.P.E. Pendant.
It’s no secret that the fashion industry is being called upon to do more for the environment, with brands of all sizes encouraged to peruse sustainable solutions, responsible design, and circular approaches to manufacturing and distribution. Furthering the conversation is Pentatonic, a leading circular economy company that has shifted the focus to our ever-expanding E-waste. With the world producing 50 million tonnes of E-waste a year – with this figure expected to almost triple by 2050 – their latest collaboration with up-and-coming jewellery designer Johnny Hoxton is not only raising awareness but highlighting how waste can be repressed to create something beautiful.
O.P.E. (Order of Planet Earth) lends itself as the name of a twelve-month program of product drops, beginning with this collaborative piece of jewellery. The pendant reworks the instantly recognisable recycling logo, and builds each in either silver or 10 karat gold, with the each of the metals extracted from consumers electronics.
Both finishes of the Pentatonic x Johnny Hoxton O.P.E. Pendant are available now via Pentatonic.
