People Outraged After Donald Trump Suggests Alec Baldwin Loaded ‘Rust’ Gun

Donald Trump has never been a fan of Alec Baldwin, but his latest accusations have entered new terriotry.
The former president went after the former Saturday Night Live presidential impersonator in a new episode of radio host Chris Stigall’s podcast, insinuating that Baldwin knowingly had something to do with the on-set death of Rust’s cinematographer Halyna Hutchins after shooting the prop gun that killed her on Oct. 21, which Baldwin has maintained was an accident.
“He’s a troubled guy,” Trump said, per Business Insider. “There’s something wrong with him. I’ve watched him for years. He gets into fistfights with reporters.”
He then added that Baldwin is a “cuckoo-bird,” a “nutjob,” and that when there’s usually somebody like that, “in my opinion, he had something to do with it.”
“But if nothing else, how do you take a gun and just, whether it’s loaded or not loaded, how do you take a gun, point it at somebody that’s not even in the movie and just point it at this person and pull the trigger and now she’s dead?” Trump asked.
Trump went on to share concerns with Baldwin’s impersonation of him, and at one point, accused the actor—who has maintained the shooting was a “tragic accident” and that he was told the gun was not loaded—of potentially loading the gun himself.
“As bad as it may have been kept, meaning you know the people that take care of the equipment and the guns and everything else,” Trump said. “… But even if it was loaded, and that’s a weird thing—maybe he loaded it.”
This isn’t the first time a Trump has involved himself in the situation, as the former president is following in the footsteps of his son Donald Trump Jr., who controversially decided to sell T-shirts reading “Guns Don’t Kill People, Alec Baldwin Kills People” for $27.99 not too long after the incident.
Of course, the internet is outraged over Trump’s latest unsubstantiated claims. Read what Twitter users have to say below.
