People React to Kumail Nanjiani Getting Absolutely Shredded for ‘The Eternals’
Written by SOURCE on December 17, 2019
In preparation for his role in next year’s The Eternals, Kumail Nanjiani has gone the route of oh so many onscreen Marvel heroes before him — from Hugh Jackman to Ryan Reynolds to the Chrises Pratt and Hemsworth — by getting cut the fuck up so that he looks believable as a comic book character. As you should do if you ever find yourself in similar shape, he took a thirst trap which will build hype for the movie, for him, and also help for the sake of posterity.
Now as you can see from his caption, he says he never thought he’d be the type of dude to be posting shirtless pics. But, as you may or may not know, if you get into (or close to) that type of shape you may do it regardless of your previous feelings on how douche-y you think it is. Again, posterity is important.
Also included in his caption was a message about how difficult it is to get into such shape, so don’t feel so bad if you can’t match. He did this by praising his nutritionists, his trainers, Marvel’s budget, and the amount of time he had to get into the gym (for those of you who haven’t graduated from college yet, that’ll be a big one to not look forward to). As he wrote:
I never thought I’d be one of those people who would post a thirsty shirtless, but I’ve worked way too hard for way too long so here we are. You either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain. I found out a year ago I was going to be in Marvel’s Eternals and decided I wanted to transform how I looked. I would not have been able to do this if I didn’t have a full year with the best trainers and nutritionists paid for by the biggest studio in the world. I’m glad I look like this, but I also understand why I never did before. It would have been impossible without these resources and time.
With that humility expressed, here’s some people with reactions to the comedian’s transformation that spanned from being surprised to horny.
The Eternals hits theaters on November 6, 2020.
