Pete Davidson Moves Out of House He Was Sharing With His Mom

Pete Davidson has moved out of the house he was sharing with his mom, he revealed as much in a recorded call that was shared over TikTok.
“I just moved out of my mom’s house,” he says in the clip. “I’m fully out. I got a pad.”
The change of residence brings a conclusion (is that the right word here?) to a two-year saga that began when he purchased a home with his mom, Amy. Also his new high-rise luxury condo looks sweet, as you can see in this Cribs-in-print from the New York Post.
Davidson’s move was forecasted in a Weekend Update skit that aired in February. If you watch SNL you’re aware this topic came up from time-to-time.
“In some ways, I like the pandemic Valentine’s because it’s the first time being alone wasn’t my fault,” he said, as transcribed by People. “I spent the night eating chocolates and watching a movie with my mom, which is why I’m officially moving out of the house. One of us has to go.”
Asked by Colin Jost if he was really moving out, he joked “Yeah, I have to.”
“The thing is my mom is a lot like this show. No matter what I do, I’m never asked to leave. Also, they’re both really old and noticeably fatigued,” he added.
In a previous promotion for his Netflix special, Alive in New York, he gave a tour of his basement pad. In short, basement or not, it looked a lot better than a lot of living situations:
He bought the $1.3 million home with his mom back in 2019 after he and Ariana Grande split up.
“We bought a house together, but nobody believes that,” he told Jimmy Fallon at the time. “I live with my mom, kinda, so I have like a basement that’s like mine that’s like an apartment, so I live underneath her, so I’m getting like a little arcade set up down there trying to make it mine.”
This is the second time in the past few weeks that Davidson’s now former house has been mentioned.
Back in March, authorities arrested a woman, Michelle Mootreddy, who broke into the home through an open side door. She sat down at the kitchen table and claimed, incorrectly, to be Davidson’s business partner and wife. The SNL star wasn’t home when it happened, but some relatives were. Mootreddy was charged with two counts of felony burglary, two misdemeanor counts of stalking, and two misdemeanor counts of criminal trespass and harassment. A court also granted Davidson an order of protection. As a result she’s been ordered to stay away from him, in addition to three other people who live at the house.
