Post Malone’s ‘Hollywood’s Bleeding’ Hits Milestone by Topping Billboard 200 for 5th Time

Written by on November 11, 2019

Post Malone continues to venture into uncharted territory on the Billboard 200 with his album Hollywood’s Bleeding. The latest honor for Posty comes in light of Bleeding finishing atop the chart for a fifth nonconsecutive week, a feat that hasn’t been accomplished in over a year.

Scorpion by Drake was the last album to land at No. 1 for five weeks, however, it was all consecutive. Hollywood’s Bleeding spent its first three weeks following its release on Sept. 21 in the top spot, but didn’t return to that slot until Nov. 2 and again this week. His 2018 project beerbongs & bentleys tapped out atop the chart three times.

Hollywood’s Bleeding, which earned 78,000 equivalent album units, was able to stave off last week’s No. 1, Kanye West‘s Jesus Is King by a mere 6,000 units. AI Youngboy 2 by YoungBoy Never Broke Again rounded out the top three with its 62,000 units.

Posty’s current battle with Kanye on the Billboard 200 is quite coincidental since the two have collaborated on multiple occasions in the past, including on “Internet” off Bleeding, which Mr. West has a co-writing credit.

“I haven’t talked to him in a long time,” Post recalled in his September interview with Zane Lowe for Beats 1. The discussion about ‘Ye led him to recount what it was like working together on the hit single “Fade.”

“[‘Fade’] was a big experience for me,” Posty said. “That was really, really, really something else. Legendary. I remember we went to go and he was working on the Yeezy stuff. He said come over and cut the track. We sat there, we had like a nice foldable picnic table type deal with a laptop and a mic there. We were drinking Fireball, for some reason.”
