Premiere: Headie One And Skepta’s “Back To Basics” Gets A UKG Edit From Floating Points
Written by SOURCE on August 9, 2019
Headie One, the rapper who rose to fame with his distinct take on UK drill, releases his new project, Music X Road, on Aug. 23, which sees him battling himself between the two, all while creating some new bangers for your playlist. The latest single from the tape, “Back To Basics” with Skepta, has gone down a treat underground—further solidifying both North Londoners as two of the UK’s best right now.
Today, we’re being blessed with a UKG edit of the NYGE-produced outing, courtesy of electronic maestro Floating Points: here, Headie and Skepta’s choppy flows are placed over a bed of warped, bouncy 2-step, allowing their cruddy rhymes to see a new lease of life. “I love all of Headie’s work,” Floating Points told Complex. “The second I heard this track, I just knew I wanted to flip it.”
