Premiere: Nippa Returns With Visuals For R&B-Trap Gem “Situation”

After setting speakers ablaze last month with the super-smooth “Ride Or Die”, rising North London artist Nippa has been hurdling towards stardom with his signature brand of trap-licked R&B.
Nippa’s latest drop, “Situation”, produced by TobiAitch and 6, is another melodic number, with trappy hi-hats and verbiage counterbalanced by melodic, 2000s-style R&B vocal turns. The track’s melting pot of influences converges into a nostalgic, futuristic sound distinctly unique to Nippa.
“‘Situation’ is essentially another way of asking, ‘Are you gonna back your bredrin?’,” Nippa tells Complex. “I deliberately used soft vocals to potentially appeal to audiences who might not be as familiar with this topic and lyrically show them the rawer elements of where I’m from and what questions I pose to the people around me. After this single, I’ll release my third single along with my EP and give fans a taste of what I’m capable of. I feel like the scene has been craving diversity, and I intend to fill that vacancy for the long-term.”
Nippa teams up, once again, with Faces for the track’s visual treatment. The “Situation” video pays homage to Nippa’s stomping ground as he sits atop a blacked-out convertible Benz, gets a fresh cut, and hangs with his local crew. “Situation” is expected to land on Nippa’s forthcoming debut EP, but in the meantime, press play on the visuals exclusively above.
