Premiere: NY Duo Memba Send Us To The Dancefloor With Levus Alone-Assisted “Meet Freedom”

New York club-filling duo Memba filled last year with a relentless stream of releases, always with an eye for the dancefloor. Now, looking to enjoy an even bigger and better year, they’re back with their latest single, “Meet Freedom”. This time round they’ve teamed up with mysterious UK-based artist Levus Alone to create an uplifting and energising club cut. With a chugging trap instrumental at its heart, the Memba boys deftly manage to restrain the instrumental, balancing its heaviness with the angelic, pitch-shifted vocals from their mysterious British counterpart.
This April/May, the boys will be heading out on a massive US tour (dates at the bottom), and they’re setting expectations sky high, promising giant inflatables, live instruments and special guests. As April 15 draws ever closer, this cinematic trap banger is the perfect addition to their already impressive arsenal.
Speaking with Complex via email, Memba explained: “We wrote this with our UK-based friend Levus Alone. We’ve been writing with him for a long time. We recorded the vocals for this about four years ago while he worked at a Bingo in Leeds. The instrumental came together a lot later. We don’t know what he’s up to these days. He’s been hard to reach. But he’s one of the most talented people we’ve worked with and he really does like to be left alone. We’re really excited to play this one in our upcoming headline tour. We have something really special planned for it.”
