Premiere: ORKID Wants To “Get To Know U” On Bouncy New Pop Banger

Northern Sweden’s ORKID already has an astonishing number of incredibly infectious pop music under his belt. Past outings like “Melodrama” from May this year and last year’s “Obvious” combined that intangible Scandinavian sound with the young singer’s lifelong love of classic funk and soul — and now she’s back to build on that with a particularly club-friendly new single called “Get To Know U”. As bold as anything she’s ever released, “Get To Know U” is one of her most energetic releases to date, stopping just short of house music territory and filled from start to finish with high energy flourishes and sugary bursts of colour. 

Speaking with Complex via email, ORKID explained: “‘Get To Know U’ is no perfect fairytale romance, it’s all about you and your needs and having only one thing in mind. You got your own shit together, you’re out having a good time, pulling bad pick up lines, acting dumb, having fun, doing you.”
