Premiere: Prince Swanny & Skillibeng Reconnect For Dancehall Jam “Shake”
Written by SOURCE on September 8, 2022
When Skillibeng released his The Prodigy album in 2020, one of the key tracks fans latched onto was “Bad Everyday”, a team-up with Trinidad star Prince Swanny that quickly smashed 11 million plays on YouTube. Thankfully, fans haven’t had to wait too long for a follow-up because they’ve just dropped off another: “Shake”.
Reuniting Jamaica’s long dancehall history with Trinidad & Tobago’s TriniBad take on the sound that Prince Swanny has helped popularise, it’s tough but melodic and is shot through with that mercurial trap element that sets the TriniBad sound apart. The single is officially out tomorrow (Sept. 9), and we wouldn’t be surprised if get some visuals for it at some point.
This is the third single to be lifted from Swanny’s upcoming Swanology album, which is set to be a historic release for a number of reasons. The new project is due for release via Roc Nation’s Equal Distribution, and although no solid release date has been confirmed yet, it has all the ingredients in place to make for a long-lasting breakthrough.
While we wait on more details on Swanology, blast “Shake” through some nice big bass bins.
