Premiere: Reuben Vincent Drops Video for New Single “Geechie Suede”

One of Roc Nation’s latest signees, Reuben Vincent, has just arrived with new visuals for his latest single, “Geechie Suede,” which appears on the young artist’s upcoming debut studio album, Love Is War.

Ahead of the release of the visuals, Vincent shared the track alongside a short message to his supporters.

The coinciding video for “Geechie Suede” visually tracks the rise of the 21-year-old Charlotte rapper as he spits about his slow rise through the music industry. It chronicles his experience performing for loyal fans, rapping in the booth, and meeting some of his idols like Pusha-T. The storytelling aspect of the track is amplified withreal sn apshots layered throughout the video, creating a fuller picture of who Reuben is as an artist and person.

“I don’t have typical high-school memories, I was in the studio” Vincent recalls when thinking back to how he got here in the first place. “Instead of going to prom, I went to meet Kendrick Lamar.”

These moments and memories will culminate in Vincent’s Roc Nation debut Love Is War, which is set to arrive on Sept. 14. “Instead of looking for love from others, I had to find the love within” Reuben adds when discussing the album’s title.
