Premiere: Romanian Pop Auteur Helen Celebrates A New Love With Stunningly Elegant “Rare”

Born and raised in Bucharest, Romania, singer-songwriter Helen is back with another impressive set of visuals, this time for the arrestingly elegant “Rare” ahead of a brand new EP called Lost In The Wild. Over a sweeping rush of bass, ’80s-tinged synths and sporadic funk guitar licks, Helen sings delicately of a love that’s swept away. You’re love is so rare, she sings as she finds herself simultaneously lost in a new love and awash with a newfound clarity.

Speaking with Complex via email, Helen told us: “Remember how it feels to get lost with the person you love? That intimate feeling when everything around you is put on hold and the world stops for a moment. That’s what I felt when I was writing this song and it’s that kind of connection that is precious and ‘Rare’.”
