King Push has returned to claim his throne.
Earlier today, Funkmaster Flex revealed that he would be debuting Pusha T‘s newest single on his Hot 97 radio show at 7 p.m. ET. At that time, little was known about Push’s new record but when the clock struck 7 “Sociopath” featuring Kash Doll dropped to streaming services. The track was produced by Kanye West.
Listen to “Sociopath” over on Apple Music or below via Spotify.
“I love leaks like the next man but i had to make sure you had the mixed and mastered in your archives,” Push wrote on Twitter about the track.
It’s unclear if “Sociopath” is a loosie or will be featured on a project. But, Push himself disclosed to his followers that he’s back in the lab. After being tempted by a fresh bagel, Push revealed that he returned to Virginia Beach where he’s “recording a masterpiece, again…”
Hip-hop lovers have always respected Pusha T. But after releasing DAYTONA and his ensuing dismantling of Drake, Push redefined his dominance for a new generation. The momentum of these feats led Complex to name him the Best Rapper Alive for the year of 2018. Yet where Push goes, controversy follows.
After giving out fire feature verses to rappers like Freddie Gibbs and Benny The Butcher, it was time for Push to climb back into the mainstream. To do this, Pusha laid a verse on Rick Ross’ “Maybach Music IV” for the rapper’s Port of Miami 2 album. This turned into a semi-tense situation as Ross decided to put Pusha on the same track as Lil Wayne. Although they both cleared the record, Push didn’t make the final version. Still, fans got a taste of what they would’ve heard because his verse leaked as soon as the album dropped.
