Pusha-T on ‘Yandhi’ Leaks: ‘It Ruins All That We Have in Store for U Guys’

Written by on August 27, 2019

The G.O.O.D. Music vault has been breached recently, leading to a string of leaks including what could be some of Kanye West‘s highly anticipated album, Yandhi. As the label’s president, Pusha-T found it necessary to brief the public on the state of G.O.O.D. Music.

“I hate it, luckily we are talented beyond measure and can always cook up more,” Push tweeted when asked his thoughts on the leaks. “But I honestly hate it for the sake of making an event of a song or project, it ruins all that we have in store for u guys.”

Push has been the victim of these leaks as well. Rick Ross announced that he had secured both a Pusha-T and Lil Wayne verse for “Maybach Music VI.” After contemplating the potential repercussions, Rozay decided to move forward with Weezy rather than Push. Although he didn’t make the album, fans still heard Pusha’s verse because someone leaked his feature the same day Port of Miami 2 dropped.

Push’s ability to re-rock the pack is evident by the way he handled his latest single, “Sociopath.” Originally, the song featuring Kash Doll was a throwaway from the early DAYTONA sessions. Yet, somehow the track got leaked in April. After patching the hole and removing the song from the internet, Pusha decided to turn it into an “event.” Yesterday, Funkmaster Flex announced that he had an exclusive single from Push that he would be dropping on his show at 7 p.m. ET. When the clock struck 7, it was revealed that Push had mastered and repackaged the tack, making Sociopath available on streaming platforms.
