Rae Sremmurd are gearing up for a 2023 comeback.
More than a month after releasing “Sucka or Sum,” the hip-hop duo returned this week with their new single “Tanisha (Pump That)” featuring production by Mike Will Made-It and a writing credit for Pharrell. The former announced the track via Twitter on Thursday, telling fans to prepare for “Ear Drummer Summer.”
Swae Lee and Slim Jxmmi have planted their flag for an April 7 release date for Sremm 4 Life, they confirmed on Thursday. “We sremm’d out all year,” they wrote on IG alongside the cover art.
Rae Sremmurd and Pharrell previously connected on “Chanel” and “Aries (YuGo), Pt. 2,” which was also produced by Mike Will. During a 2018 interview on TRL, the duo spoke about “Chanel” and their experience working with Skateboard P.
“The way he switched his flow up on that, that shit was crazy,” Swae said. “You can tell he’s an OG. He knows exactly what he’s doing. It don’t matter what track it is—new school, old school—he can come on and finesse it. His verse was so hard.”
Sremm 4 Life will serve as the follow-up to their star-studded effort SR3MM, which made Complex’s Best Albums of 2018 list.
