Rampaging Bull Attacks Cyclists During California Off-Road Bike Race

Written by on February 16, 2022

A rampaging bull made an appearance at an off-road bike race in California this weekend, knocking a handful of cyclists off their bikes during the event.

This year’s Biancho Rock Cobbler, an annual cycling event that started in 2013 and covers about 80 miles in Bakersfield, CA, was visited by an unfriendly bull.

Two of the attacks were captured on video, with TMZ reporting that four cyclists had encounters with the bull.

Tony Inderbitzin, who was run over in the above clip, told the Cowboy State Daily, “I’m sore all over, mostly the neck from the second throw, I got whip-lashed … The list of what doesn’t hurt is my left arm and head.”

Sam Ames, who organizes the event, told SFGate that none of the riders were seriously injured.

“While we love our shenanigans at the event, this was not planned, we don’t condone riding at or near bulls,” Ames told the outlet over email on Monday. “All riders involved are safe, unharmed if you can believe it and 2 of the 3 finished the ride and toasted beers. Rider safety is a top priority … so while this is able to get some laughs, thankfully, we will review or modify our route as needed for next year.”
