Named after the Bible’s original woman, Rapsody’s third album celebrates women of color across the world. “Ibtihaj,” in particular, is an homage to Ibtihaj Muhammad who was a member of the U.S. national fencing team and the first Muslim-American woman to wear a hijab while competing for the U.S. during the 2016 Olympics. Each song on the album is named after an iconic black woman who has served as an inspiration to Rapsody throughout her life.
