Rapsody, Vic Mensa Mentor Chicago Youth as Part of the Inspire Change Initiative

Written by on September 5, 2019

As part of the NFL’s Inspire Change initiative, Roc Nation rappers Vic Mensa and Rapsody spent their Wednesday afternoon spearheading a mentoring program for Chicago youth.

The event was in support of the BBF (Better Boys Foundation) Family Services, a human services organization that provides after-school programming for boys and girls in the North Lawndale community. Mensa and Rapsody were joined by NFL Hall of Famers Aeneas Williams, Orlando Pace, and John Randle, as well as NFL Chief Operating Officer Maryann Turcke, Cook County State Attorney Kim Foxx, the First Lady of Chicago Amy Eshleman, and Chicago police officers from the 10th District, among others.

About 70 Chicago teens participated in Wednesday’s event, where they got the chance to speak to the mentors about their career goals as well as receive general life advice.

The event took place just days after Meek Mill and Meghan Trainor were announced as the inaugural Inspire Change advocates for the 2019 NFL season. As part of the mission, the NFL and Roc Nation will donate $400,000 to the BBF and Chicago’s Crusher’s Club, which aims to improve the lives of the city’s youth.
