The Toronto Raptors issued an apology Thursday for their cringeworthy video acknowledging Women’s History Month.

The clip begins with a prompt reading, “Beyoncé said girls run the world. Why do you think that’s true?”

Malachi Flynn got the players’ responses off to a rocky start by stating “they the only one that can procreate.”

It didn’t get much better with Precious Achiuwa, who said, “Girls run the world because they birth everybody.” Then Scottie Barnes capped it off by saying, “All women are great because they’re all queens.”

The video was pulled shortly after it was posted due to being tone deaf and offensive, as reported by TMZ

“We’re an organization that prides itself on doing the right thing when it comes to inclusion and representation, and we made a mistake (Tuesday),” the Raptors’ statement reads, according to the Toronto Sun. “Our sincerest apologies to our players, our staff and our fans—we’ll work to do better today and every day after.”

The Raptors will look to make things right when they host Women’s Empowerment Night on March 14 against the Denver Nuggets at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto.
