Red Sox Fan Stabbed Five Times by Dodgers Fans Following World Series Victory

Written by on November 1, 2018

There are many words that could used to describe the feeling among Boston Red Sox fans after the team defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 5 of the 2018 World Series to secure their ninth championship in franchise history. However, none of them have anything to do with what Josh Davis felt one day after the Red Sox captured their fourth title in the last 15 years. That’s because when Davis woke up in the emergency room at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles, he had five stab wounds, a fractured nose, and missing teeth.

Davis, a current L.A. resident who hails from Massachusetts, recalls being confronted on the sidewalk by two men who were blocking his way as he made his way home Sunday night. Davis, who was wearing a Red Sox cap when the incident took place, claims one of the men told him, “Get your (expletive) out of here, this is Dodger country right here.” He alleges that he was stabbed with what he believes was a screwdriver, and attacked by as many as “nine or 10 different people.” The man’s phone and wallet were also allegedly stolen.

“It should never come to beating the crap out of people, you know what I mean?” Davis told NECN. “I got a lot of Dodger fan friends…I’m not going to let one bad apple ruin it for me…or 10.” He posted a photo of himself on Facebook with an update on his situation.

NECN reports that the LAPD is conducting an investigation on the incident, which is being handled as an assault with a deadly weapon and robbery.
