Rick Ross Appears to Reference 6ix9ine’s Racketeering Charges on Meek Mill’s “What’s Free”

Meek Mill’s highly anticipated CHAMPIONSHIPS album has officially hit the digital streets. And there’s one particular song that’s already causing a stir.
The project’s “What’s Free” record was expected to be a standout, as it included appearances by JAY-Z and Rick Ross. The former rapper dropped an eyebrow-raising verse that referenced Kanye West’s support for Donald Trump. There has been some debate on whether JAY was taking shots at Kanye or if he’s simply criticizing the media’s efforts to pit great artists against one another. There’s arguments for either side.
And as for Ross’ verse? He appears to reference 6ix9ine’s current predicament, who is now behind bars on racketeering and firearm charges.

If Ross is indeed rapping about his peer, that’s cold, especially when you consider 6ix9ine is facing life in prison. It would also mean Rozay recently recorded his verse for the song to include the reference.
CHAMPIONSHIPS is now available to stream on Apple Music, iTunes, and Spotify. The project spans 19 tracks and includes appearances by Cardi B, Future, Young Thug, PnB Rock, and Meek’s former rival Drake, who recently promoted the album on his Instagram Stories with a special shoutout for Rick Ross’ verse.
