Rick Ross Reveals There’s a ‘Good Chance’ For Joint Album With Drake

Written by on September 11, 2021

Rick Ross says there’s still a possibility that he and Drake will drop a collaborative album.

The MMG boss spoke about the rumored project during a recent interview with Hot 97’s Ebro Darden and Peter Rosenberg. The latter DJ told Ross he was a vocal critic of Drake’s material, but admitted some of his best work was with Rozay.

“When are we getting a full Ross-Drake album?” Rosenberg asked. “… What I’m saying is this: When Drake and Rozay get together, to me, it’s the best Drake I get. It’s the rapitty-rap Drake, and I would love an entire Rozay-Drizzy project. Will that happen?”

“It’s a good chance that may happen. Is it facts? Nah,” Ross said. “Have we had that conversation? Of course we have.”

Ross was among the features on Drake’s record-breaking Certified Lover Boy album. He assisted the “You Only Live Twice” cut alongside Lil Wayne. Rosenberg praised the song for its “very vintage-y feeling” and then asked Ross to shed more light on how the track came to be.

“We in the studio, playing each other vibes, playing each other records, as we always do,” he said. “We came across a few [and] that was one of them that was on my side, tempo-wise. We was like, ‘Let’s just give them some of that spittin’ shit.’ And him and Tunechi went and did their thing.”

You can watch Ross’ full Hot 97 interview above where he also speaks on his newly released book, The Perfect Day to Boss Up: A Hustler’s Guide to Building Your Empire, dropping a record within the next two weeks, as well as possibly returning to the Verzuz ring.

Ross battled 2 Chainz over a month ago but said he was open to another showdown.

“I talked to Timbaland, actually, yesterday,” he said. “I told him I was ready.”
