Rick Ross Says ‘Leave Cardi B Alone’ Following ‘Drugging’ Controversy

Written by on March 29, 2019

Rick Ross has come to Cardi B’s defense following the Bronx native’s resurfaced admission that she used to drug and rob men.

On Thursday, Ross took to Snapchat and shared his thoughts about the situation. “Leave Cardi B alone and the reason I tell you that is in a lot of circumstances, that’s what come with that lifestyle. She never hid that,” he said.

Ross know what it’s like to be embroiled in controversy. One memorable example of the Maybach Music facing was for the 2013 line from his verse on the Rocko song “U.O.E.N.O.”: “Put Molly all in her champagne, she ain’t even know it/I took her home and I enjoyed that, she ain’t even know it,” he rapped. That song eventually cost him an endorsement deal with Reebok. He touched on that situation during the Snapchat video, commenting, “I needed to understand that I was a king—and they’re right, I didn’t need to promote that. The parties I attended at the time, where I’m from, that was the lifestyle.”

Ross ended his remarks by saying he thinks it’s pointless to condemn a person for past indiscretions if they change their behavior. “If you stole a car in the past, that don’t mean you shouldn’t get money in the future. As long as you change your ways and we all know Cardi B focused on the money now and she is a leader,” he said.

Earlier this week, Cardi B found herself in the throes of another internet debacle after a 3-year-old video resurfaced where she claims to have drugged and robbed men before becoming famous. The footage drew outrage across social media and even sparked the hashtag #SurvivingCardiB—a reference to the explosive docuseries about R. Kelly’s alleged sexual abuse. In a now-deleted Instagram post, she addressed the controversial video and took responsibility for her misdeeds.
