Rob Gronkowski Is Reportedly Close to Signing Deal With WWE

Fox Sports football analyst and former NFL player Rob Gronkowski is reportedly close to reaching a deal with the WWE, according to Wrestling Sheet’s editor-in-chief Ryan Satin.
Though there aren’t many details currently available on the WWE’s deal with the former New England Patriots player, Wrestling Sheet is reporting that Gronkowski could be in the fold as soon as Friday, March 20 for SmackDown.
Gronkowski previously connected with Mojo Rawley at 2017’s WrestleMania 33 to help in taking down Jinder Mahal.
“My buddy Mojo Rawley, he’s in the WWE. He’s doing great. He’s about to be a superstar, I feel like,” Gronkowski said back in 2016. “I watch him and he kind of inspires me to someday maybe get in that ring and be a WWE wrestler. I don’t know if I would want to do it full-time, but I would definitely want to make an appearance in the ring once and jump off the top ropes and give someone an elbow drop.”
The three-time Super Bowl champion announced his retirement from the NFL back in March of 2019.
