Florida rapper Rod Wave has just unleashed the video for his track “Fuck the World.”
Originally released as part of his Pray 4 Love record, the song showcases the rapper’s ability as both a rapper and a singer. The music video for the track, which is one of the many highlights from the album, sees Rod in his feelings as he’s walking around his empty home. Against the backdrop of the city, Rod puts a focus on his songwriting over any extravagant visuals.
Additionally, Rod Wave recorded a new version of his track “Ribbon in the Sky” that has been included as part of Amazon Music’s Emo Trap playlist, which highlights the best in emotional rap out right now. Stripping the song back to just piano and Rod Wave’s voice, which shifts effortleslly between rapping and singing, the new version puts the focus on his voice and songwriting talents.
Speaking about the record, Rod Wave said, “The song is important to me because it’s about overcoming what we’ve been through growing up at the bottom. There’s a lot of people who want to see you fail, and I made this song to remind myself to block them out and keep going.”
