Roddy Ricch Says Drake Helped Him Get Into Canada

Despite being one of the hottest rappers in the game, Roddy Ricch apparently had trouble entering the Great White North.
On Wednesday, the Compton-born rapper took to Twitter suggesting he was initially denied entry into Canada, where he was set to make stops for his North American tour. Roddy didn’t provide details on the issue, but said it eventually all worked out—thanks to the 6 God.
“Called Drake and bro he got me into Canada,” the rapper tweeted along with a flexing emoji.
Drake’s status within Canada has apparently come in handy for other hip-hop figures. Back in December, Grammy-nominated producer JetsonMade claimed he had also ran into trouble at the Canadian border, and was prohibited from entering. So, he made a quick call to Drizzy and had the situation resolved in 10 minutes.
While on the road for his Kirk Tour, DaBaby announced he was being held by Canadian customs for three hours. The “Suge” artist jokingly asked his followers to alert Drake so that he could finally bounce.
Gucci also referenced Drizzy’s influence in Canada in their 2016 joint record “Both”: “I got so many felonies I might can’t never go to Canada,” Guwop rapped in the opening verse, “but Drake said he gon’ pull some strings, so let me check my calendar.”
It clearly pays to be Drake’s friend, especially when you’re dealing with Canadian officials.
