Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks have come to an agreement on a four-year extension deal that makes NFL history.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter cited a source in a report Monday morning revealing the $140 million extension deal, which includes a hefty $65 million signing bonus. All told, the new deal keeps Wilson on the Seahawks through 2023 and effectively makes him the highest-paid player in the league. The bonus also sets a new record of its own.
Wilson, whose four-year 2015 contract was for $87.6 million, had previously set a deadline of April 15.
