Scott Storch Doubles Down on Vow Not to Work With 6ix9ine Again

Written by on July 5, 2022

Scott Storch reiterated in his Drink Champs appearance that he will never work with 6ix9ine again.

“I’ve had so many difficult moments, you know, I’ve worked with Tekashi 6ix9ine,” Storch said. “That all went bad, like, at the time, we made what I felt like was a fucking crazy record. You can’t take that away from the man.”

Storch produced three tracks off 6ix9ine’s debut studio album Dummy Boy in 2018.

“It’s difficult, like when you’re in person and all of a sudden, you see somebody like, ‘Oh shit, now I gotta take pictures’ and this and that and blah, blah, blah, and then people are going to shit on me. All that shit. It’s hard, man,” he continued.

6ix9ine was given two years in prison in 2019 as part of his plea deal in order to receive a greatly reduced sentence. He was facing a minimum of 47 years on racketeering charges. The rapper agreed to cooperate with prosecutors in their case against fellow members of Nine Trey Gangsters, a move that didn’t sit well with his contemporaries.

Storch said in a 2020 interview that he wouldn’t work with 6ix9ine, but “not for the reasons that people would think.”

While on Drink Champs, Storch continued not to provide an explanation.

“I’ll say this, the Tekashi records be streaming, boy,” he said. “I’m just saying that was a bag but no, I’m not working with him.”
