Seahawks’ Tyler Lockett Recreates AI’s Step Over for Touchdown Celebration

Written by on November 26, 2018

Seattle Seahawks‘ wide receiver Tyler Lockett added to the NFL’s storied history of over-the-top celebrations when he channeled the spirit of NBA GOAT Allen Iverson after scoring a touchdown in Sunday’s (Nov. 25) game.

Midway through the third quarter of the Seahawks’ contest against the Carolina Panthers, Locket found a window in the Panthers’ defense just big enough for his franchise quarterback Russell Wilson to squeeze a dart into for a 12-yard reception. And after a timely challenge from Pete Carroll confirmed that Lockett was indeed in the end zone and not downed short of the goal as previously ruled, the four-year player took this moment to commemorate setting a new career-high for touchdowns in a season by recreating Allen Iverson’s infamous “Step Over.”

Like Amari Cooper’s Markelle Fultz impersonation and Trey Quinn’s The Office inspired dance, with his latest celebration Lockett might have made himself a contender for this year’s best touchdown celebration. That’s a huge accomplishment as players have been constantly topping one another with hilarious post score performances.
