Serena Williams has found a way around the controversy caused by her familiar catsuits. In the Australian Open’s first round, Williams came out sporting a bright-green romper that fit as snugly as her signature outfit, topping it off with fishnet tights for good measure.

The stunning choice of wardrobe came after her 2018 French Open outfit caused a scandal. The major banned catsuits after Williams’ withdrew from the tourney with a muscle injury.

“I think that sometimes we’ve gone too far,” French Tennis Federation President Bernard Giudicelli said in an interview with Tennis magazine, before noting that catsuits will be banned. “It will no longer be accepted. One must respect the game and the place.”

The all-black compression suit was specifically designed so that Williams—who recently had a near-fatal health crisis after giving birth —wouldn’t suffer any blood clots.

“I’ve had a lot of problems with my blood clots, God I don’t know how many I’ve had in the past 12 months,” she said during a news conference last May. “I’ve been wearing pants in general a lot when I play so I can keep the blood circulation going.”

The ban went through anyway and Williams latest outfit seems like a jab at the federation. As you might expect, fans loved it.

Also, Serena ended up winning her match. She hits the courts again Wednesday to face Canadian Eugenie Bouchard.
