Smooky MarGielaa Returns With “Flight to Memphis” f/ ASAP Rocky, Juicy J, and Chris Brown

Written by on December 6, 2018

Smooky MarGielaa has solidified himself as one of hip-hop’s most promising stars.

After appearing on tracks alongside Lil Yachty, Kodie Shane, Schoolboy Q, and 24hrs, the 16-year-old MC expands his growing list of collaborations with “Flight to Memphis.” The song features production by Bobby Johnson Beats, as well as verses from Chris Brown, Juicy J, and Smooky’s mentor ASAP Rocky.

“Ice on my wrist, try to take it, we go reckless/I got Flacko with me in the ‘Rari, we stay flexin’/And they want me walk through, boy, you better have that check in,” Smooky raps.

The Bronx native spoke about his career in a 2017 interview with Pigeons & Planes. He discussed his contributions to Cozy Tapes Vol. 2, the advice he received from Diddy, and how he first met Rocky after getting kicked out of a club.

“Then we see a big SUV come. We’re like, ‘Oh, shoot, who this?’ Then out of nowhere, ASAP Rocky come out. Carti come out. All of them come out, the whole Mob. Twelvyy, every single one of them,” he recalled. “So I’m like, ‘What’s good? I’m Smooky MarGielaa, I’m from the Bronx.’ And he was fucking with me […] Security was already on us, not about to let these kids back in. Then we see our manager, he went right to the back door and opened the back door for us. I just started performing, and ever since then Rocky has been fucking with me.”

“Flight to Memphis” arrives as Smooky prepares to release his debut album, which is expected to drop in 2019. You can stream the track now on Apple Music/iTunes or below via Spotify.
