Sonequa Martin-Green to Join LeBron James in ‘Space Jam 2’

The much-anticipated Space Jam sequel has reportedly found its Mrs. LeBron James.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Sonequa Martin-Green has signed on to play the NBA star’s wife in the much-anticipated Warner Bros. film. The details of Martin-Green’s role have not been revealed, as the sequel’s storyline has remained under wraps.
The 34-year-old actress currently stars in the CBS All Access series Star Trek: Discovery, and has appeared in hit series such as The Walking Dead, Once Upon a Time, and The Good Wife. In addition to James and Martin-Green, Space Jam 2 will also feature Eric Bauza, who will provide the voice of iconic Looney Tunes characters Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck.
Space Jam 2 will be produced by James, Maverick Carter, and Black Panther director Ryan Coogler. Terence Nance, creator of the HBO’s Random Acts of Flyness, has signed on to direct the project.
“Pretty sure [it’s] going to disrupt everything,” Nance told Vice about Space Jam 2. “I’m excited about what that movie can be.”
The movie is expected to kick off production this summer, during the NBA’s off-season.
