Steph Curry Promises 9-Year-Old He’ll Make Curry 5s for Girls

Steph Curry responded to a nine-year-old girl who just wants to rock some Curry 5s.
The Golden State Warriors star received a letter from Riley Morrison, a basketball-playing NorCal kid. In the letter, Morrison explained that she was upset that she couldn’t buy Curry’s sneakers for her upcoming basketball season.
“My dad and I visited the website and were disappointed to see that there were no Curry 5s for sale under the girls’ section,” she wrote. I hope you can work with Under Armour to change this because girls want to rock the Curry 5 too.”
Morrison pointed out that she knows Curry supports girls playing basketball “because you have two daughters and you host an all-girls basketball camp.” ESPN’s Darren Rovell shared Curry’s handwritten response to the letter, where he promised to fix the error and get Riley a pair of Curry 6s when they drop.
“I appreciate your concern and have spent the last two days talking to Under Armour about how we can fix the issue,” he wrote. “I want to make sure you can wear my kicks proudly.”
Curry’s basketball shoes are just as unisex as all court-ready sneakers. So, it seems to be a matter of labeling and placing the shoes in the girls’ section of the website. For pointing out the error, Curry promised Riley that he would celebrate with her in Oakland on International Women’s Day in March.
