Written by on June 17, 2022

It’s been a big day in music news.

Shortly after Beyoncé confirmed the release of her Renaissance project, Drake came through with his own big announcement: His seventh studio album would hit streaming services in less than 24 hours. Drizzy dropped the bomb via Instagram, where he unveiled the project’s title, Honestly, Nevermind; its official cover art; and tracklist.

The 14-track effort included titles like “Falling Back,” “Calling My Name,” “Overdrive,” and “Jimmy Cooks,” which is a nod to the Jimmy Brooks character he played on the Canadian teen series Degrassi. He also confirmed he co-executive produced the album alongside Noah “40” Shebib, Oliver El-Khatib, Noel Cadastre, and Black Coffee.

Drake also premiered an episode of his SiriusXM radio show Table For One on Sound 42 before dropping the project.

Prior to the release, DJ Carnage, aka Gordo, confirmed he produced songs on the album. His involvement led many fans to believe the project would go heavy on the dance music.

“Thank you brother for trusting me and allowing me to be a part of the vision,” he tweeted to Drake. “I never factored this into the equation for the beginning of my next chapter, but thank you.”

Carnage and Drake have spent the last several months teasing new music. They’ve shared a series of Instagram posts of their studio sessions, but remained tight-lipped about what they had in store.

You can stream the new album, which is 53 minutes in length, below via Apple Music and Spotify.

Honestly, Nevermind arrives about nine months after Drake released Certified Lover Boy. The project debuted atop the Billboard 200 in September 2021, and currently occupies the chart’s No. 13 slot.
