Is True Religion headed for a comeback?

Since early 2020, the once-mighty denim brand has made a vigorous effort to revive itself and appeal to a new generation of consumers. The company reportedly spent 15 months reworking its website and released collaborations with notable figures like artist Jaffa Saba and Kida the Great. Though there’s no doubt these partnerships generated some buzz, it seems True Religion’s biggest collab has yet to be released.

On Saturday, reports began circulating that the American brand teamed up with Supreme on a limited edition collection. The rumors stem from Tyshawn Jones’ mural unveiling this weekend, where he was spotted rocking a purported piece from the collaboration.

As you can see in the photos below, Jones—a Supreme-sponsored skateboarder—wore a purple zip-up hoodie emblazoned with the Supreme logo as well as True Religion’s smiling Buddha graphic. It’s unclear when the collaboration will drop, but streetwear news platform DBJ reports it will arrive “later this season.”

The mural unveiling took place outside Jones’ Taste So Good restaurant in the Bronx, where he was recognized for his positive impact on the community.

The event was part of Adidas’ Honoring Black Excellence initiative, and included several guest speakers, including Tiffany & Co. creative director Ruba Abu-Nimah.

In other Supreme news, the brand has also reportedly teamed up with Tiffany’s for the fall/winter 2021 season. However, outlets emphasize that has not been confirmed.
