T.I. and Teyana Taylor Share Two-Part Video for “You” and “Be There”

Written by on September 19, 2019

Last year, T.I. released his tenth studio album Dime Trap, and now he’s revisiting the project with a two-part music video directed by Teyana Taylor.

Starting with a quote from Georgia governor Brian Kemp on Atlanta’s sex trafficking epidemic, the video for “You” and “Be There” is immediately heavy. From there, it shows Taylor and T.I. as they discuss their past, only to insist on “having fun.”

The two turn up to a church and kill a pastor who had child molestation charges against him dropped, and it only gets darker from there. Taylor and T.I. go on to save women who became part of a human trafficking ring, before the music shifts toward its second track.

“3,600 minors are sold into sex slavery every year in the state of the Georgia,” the video reads as it reaches the credits. “1 out of every 10 sexual abuse survivors will never tell. Depending on the length/frequency of an abused child, the risk of suicidal behavior becomes greater. … The city’s trafficking industry went from $232 million to more than $290 million—more than the revenue generated by the Metro Atlanta’s drug and gun trade combined.”
