Taylor Swift Fans Are Reportedly Sending Death Threats to Scooter Braun

It seems needing to calm down is easier to sing along to than actually do. According to TMZ, some of Taylor Swift‘s more crazed fans have taken to sending death threats in the direction of Scooter Braun. This, they say, happened after Swift claimed that Braun (and Big Machine founder/CEO Scott Borchetta) wouldn’t let her play her old hits during her upcoming AMAs performance.
TMZ adds that “sources” told them Swift fans of all ages, including some adults, have hurled threats at Braun and Borchetta, and that the threats have come via social media, text, and email. These same “sources” say that Braun’s wife and children have also been alluded to as targets.
While the threats may be seen as almost routine if you ever check the social media mentions of public figures, the threats against Braun were at least taken seriously enough that his Nashville-based Ithaca Holdings office was shut down this past week due to “some of the more intense threats.” Authorities have also been notified.
Big Machine, which had been purchased by Braun’s company, stated on Monday that Swift would be allowed to perform her old songs at the AMAs, which are scheduled for Sunday, November 24. Whether or not that stops (alleged) death threats…well, it’s hard to predict crazy people.
