Taylor Swift References Leaked Kanye Call: ‘I Was Telling the Truth the Whole Time’

Written by on March 23, 2020

On Monday, Taylor Swift made reference to a recently leaked video about the infamous phone call that took place in 2016, between her and Kanye West, over the latter artist using her name in that “Famous” line that went:

To my Southside ni**as that know me best/I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex/Why? I made that bitch famous.”

Swift did not provide a super-detailed response, but she did allude to it (and being asked questions about it) in a message on her Instagram Story in which she said: “Instead of answering those who are asking how I feel about the video footage that leaked, proving that I was telling the truth the whole time about *that call* (you know, the one that was illegally recorded, that somebody edited and manipulated in order to frame me and put me, my family, and fans through hell for 4 years)… SWIPE UP to see what really matters.”

Swiping up then takes fans to a Feeding America donation page. Here’s the message as captured by a fan account:

For added context, over the weekend the full version of the phone call was leaked and spread throughout social media. Swift fans believe it proves that the pop star has been truthful throughout the “feud,” and that it’s confirmation she was never asked about being called a “bitch” in the song. The clip shows Kanye asking Taylor about the first line, but doesn’t mention the lyric after it. You can watch if you want:

When the new footage came out, Kim Kardashian liked the following tweet saying that the clip showed nothing new:

Believe that should cover everything.
